I started this blog as a course assignment for Social Media Marketing at UCB during spring 2010. My initial posts were a collection of term papers.
I am a website designer and solution architect. After getting my masters in Computer Science, I got a job. Along with my peers, I wanted to buy every possible thing in the world. I wanted big brand names. I had no idea why I wanted to buy expensive, brand name items. I was driven by branding. I didn’t realize that I could have used money wisely. I felt peer pressure to pay more for items that served the same purpose as cheaper ones.
After years and years of work and investigation, I was trying to figure out how one brand sells similar goods for more money. Last summer, I got a call from an online company. They wanted to use my computer expertise. Their business model was great: let shoppers find out the best available price deals for products and services. I was super excited because this was an opportunity to gain insights about pricing and branding. I jumped on the phone and grabbed the opportunity.
For my course, my instructor asked me to write on a business related topic. I decided to write on the dynamics of pricing and how to take advantage of price matching technology.
In this blog, I would like to share key insights you can use to find the best deals.
I hope you enjoy my blog. If you find this information useful, please link http://pricematching.wordpress.com to your blog or web-page. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.
